Serving music since 1948 and home to the largest musical library in the country, EMI Pakistan commenced its journey in 1948, as “The Gramophone Company of Pakistan”. With full shareholding of His Master’s Voice (HMV) Group UK. Subsequent to the divestment of the EMI UK Group in 1991, the Company adopted its current name EMI (Pakistan) Ltd in 1993.
With its first archived recording – a Madam Noor Jehan track – dating back to 1939, EMI Pakistan is a household name and a stable for the country’s greatest artistes and groups. Our extensive archival records consist of tracks from a variety of genres ranging from Ghazals, Qawwalis, pure Eastern Classical music, Popular (Pop) music as it changed from time to time, Instrumentals, Films soundtracks, Folk Music, etc.
