Naheed Akhtar Biography
Naheed Akhtar (born 26 September 1956) is a renowned Pakistani playback singer, known as the “Nightingale of Pakistan.” She was a leading playback singer in Lollywood during the 1970s and 80s, winning 3 Nigar Awards and the Pride of Performance in 2007. Akhtar began her career in 1970, singing a duet with Khalid Asghar on Radio Pakistan. She was discovered by music director M. Ashraf and made her film debut in Nanha Farishta (1974). Over her career, she recorded 590 songs in 436 Urdu and Punjabi films.
